July 15, 2012 Night Phenomon

In the early morning of Sunday, July 15, 2012 the planets Venus and Jupiter along with the moon were strikingly together, providing a rare and beautiful sight. To view this I had to get up at 5 am, which I did, and took some pictures. Unfortunately, they did not show the beauty of the event as seen by the naked eye in pajamas. Below is the one that turned out the best. The crescent moon is on the left, Venus is above the brighter Jupiter to the right. Various attempts of improve it to make it more like what I saw proved unsuccessful. As seen, the background was brighter showing clouds and sky.

In this photo, Jupiter is more visible than Venus which is to the right and above the moon.

This photoshoped picture better shows the background, but the moon is blurred, losing its crescent shape. Also, Venus is clearly shown as is Jupiter below it. The nearby stars are part of the constellation Taurus.
